28 September 2007 kicked off the first Universal
Martial Arts Association Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North
Carolina. Featured was 10th Degree Black Belt, Grand Master
Seifuku Nitta, from Okinawa as well as several other masters
from all over the United States.
The UMAA Hall of Fame was hosted at the luxurious
OMNI Hotel in Charlotte NC, and was a sold out event. Seminars
went on for two days, followed by a wonderful Hall of Fame
dinner and awards banquet where over 120 top martial artists
from around the world were recognized for their accomplishments.
The event was culminated on the third day
by an open tournament, in which athletes of various styles
and systems from around the world competed. It was wonderful
international event promoting the martial spirit and unity
of the arts in all who attended.
The next UMAA Hall of Fame will be held in
